Brief history
Rakau was developed through the New Zealand hop breeding program and returned to commercial trials in 2007. It was selected for both agronomic performance and an expressive modern aroma.
General description
Dominated by fresh stone fruit, especially apricot, with a broad ripe orchard-fruit character.
Brewing use
Excellent for late hopping and dry hopping in pale ales, IPAs and modern lagers where a clear stone-fruit aroma is desired.
