Brief history
Wakatu was released in New Zealand in 1988 as New Zealand Hallertau Aroma and was renamed Wakatu in 2011. Its breeding background is strongly influenced by Hallertauer Mittelfrüh.
General description
A refined floral and citrus profile, with fresh lime-peel character as one of its most characteristic descriptors.
Brewing use
Highly versatile for aroma and late hopping in lagers, pale ales, wheat beers and other styles where a fresh citrus-floral character is desired.
