Brief history

Centennial originated from USDA breeding work in Washington State in 1974 and was released commercially in 1991. It became one of the classic aroma varieties of the American craft brewing movement.

General description

A bright citrus and floral profile, often showing grapefruit and lemon with a light resinous edge.

Brewing use

Highly versatile for bittering, late hopping and dry hopping. It is widely used in pale ales and IPAs where a clear citrus-floral hop character is required.
